It begins when the organization first reaches out to the candidate and continues throughout the recruitment process. If bias limits who enters the talent pool, it will also limit who can progress, be hired, and contribute to the organization.

The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: Building a Diverse Workforce certificate program examines hiring through an inclusion-centered framework. It explores three connected stages: building talent pools, adopting inclusive selection practices, and onboarding employees for engagement, retention, and success.

You will learn how diversity and inclusion relate to the hiring process, and how sourcing methods can be assessed for opportunities to create more inclusive talent pipelines. You will also examine how organizational messaging can attract a broader range of qualified candidates, and how bias within early screening processes may prevent candidates with marginalized identities and experiences from progressing.

The program further explores ways to measure the effectiveness of inclusion-based recruitment strategies. These insights can help organizations broaden their talent pools, strengthen representation across roles, and establish a foundation for inclusion that continues from recruitment through retention and employee success.

Enrollment also includes two years of free access to the optional Symposium. Held several times throughout the year, these live, participatory virtual sessions explore equity, unconscious bias, psychological safety, inclusive leadership, and cross-cultural conversations with Cornell faculty and experts.

Strengthen your organization’s ability to build and sustain a more inclusive workforce through the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: Building a Diverse Workforce certificate program, offered by Genashtim in collaboration with eCornell.

eCornell courses are approved by SkillsFuture Singapore for SkillsFuture Credit as well as by HRD Corp Malaysia under its HRD Corp Claimable Course Scheme.

An inclusive workforce does not start on an employee’s first day.
